Week 38

Happy very-fall-like Monday everyone! The air is cooling off what seems quicker than usual for this time of year, but if you are anything like me, it makes for great sleeping weather with the windows wide open.

Before we get to this week’s blog post, I would like to invite you to visit our new webpage Library Visit FAQs. With the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, there are quite a few changes currently in place around the library, from how long items are being quarantined, what types of masks are acceptable when visiting the library, to what services are limited at this moment. Please give it a read through before your next visit so you are prepared for any unexpected changes along the way. We will do our best to make sure this page stays updated with all the latest information we can.

Now, let’s find out about the good stuff at the Vicksburg District Library this week…

THIS WEEK

It’s Party in the Park Week! While this year’s event will not be meeting in person in the Historical Village, Mrs. W will have tons of fun for you in a bag to take home. Between today and September 19th, stop in to pick up a bag (while supplies last) that include a book, snack, and early literacy information for caregivers. Videos will also be posted this week of some of our favorite children’s authors and performers, so be sure to check our website and social media this week. No registration is required, so come on by to grab your Party in the Park bag.

Later this afternoon, Adrianne the Librarian will be posting another round of Books & Brews on Facebook Live for the adults. Today we are talking all about secret agents and spies, along with the original recipe for James Bond’s famous martini. So be sure to tune in and stream the fun!

Online Story Time starts up again a week from today! The weekly events will take place on Facebook Live on Mondays at 10:30am and Mrs. W will lead you all in a story program that you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home. Want to make the program even sweeter for you and your little one? Register here for a Story Time Crafts Kit! Lyrics and videos to enhance the program are available on our new Infants, Toddlers & Preschoolers page. Contact Mrs. W with any questions.
