Annual Book Sale

Now accepting donations!

On the second weekend of June every year the Library’s Book Sale Committee holds its annual sale. Thousands of items are donated throughout the year and include new or gently used books, videos and miscellaneous resource materials for all ages and interests. All proceeds support the Children's Department of the library, whether to purchase new materials for the collection or to fund special events and programming.

The stacks, boxes and bags of donated books and materials are sorted by the Book Sale Committee, led by the Committee Chair, hardworking organizer Gail Reisterer, every week through the year.

The book sale is held for two full days, Friday and Saturday from 10a.m. to 5p.m., and is concluded Monday morning from 10a.m. until noon when what is left is sold for only $2 a bag.

This event is held simultaneously with the Old Car Festival in Vicksburg which adds to the anticipation and excitement. If you would like to donate books to the Library or for the Annual Book Sale, please come to the front circulation desk and someone will be happy to assist you. A dolly is available if needed.

Come join the fun and support the Children’s Library!

The library does not accept damaged books, text books or encyclopedias more than a couple of years old. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
