Books & Reading

If you loved Gone with the Wind, you must try this book. Rhett Butler's People by award-winning Donald McCaig is a "parallel" story seen through Rhett's eyes beginning with his childhood. Details of Rhett's mostly noble history with the madam Belle Watling will be exposed. You'll follow Rhett from the battlefront to the boudoir. McCaig was chosen by the Margaret Mitchell estate to write Rhett Butler's People.

The Book Discussion Group

If you like to read and then talk about it, come to the Book Discussion Group. It meets the first Thursday of each month from 9-10 a.m. in the comfy chairs in front of the fireplace. Coffee and scones loosen our tongues and we discuss a different author and her work each month. The discussion is casual rather than serious or academic.

If you love books and want to hear what an expert on reading has to say, try this website: www.nancypearl.com.

Staff Picks

Every month the staff names their favorite book or movie in a specific topic – e.g. funniest, most influential, best mystery, etc. We’ll name them here but it’s more fun to see the display in the Library.

The current topic is “My Favorite Assigned Book” and the next is “The Book that Influenced Me the Most”
