Reviews (Movies you may not have heard about but are excellent):
This movie was the winner of multiple film festival awards. Ebert & Roeper gave it “Two Thumbs Up!” It is intelligently written, brilliantly cast and beautifully shot.
The plot: A feisty German mail-order bride comes to Minnesota to marry a young Norwegian immigrant farmer of few words. In post WWI anti-German sentiment is high and the town disapproves of Inge and the minister refuses to marry the couple. Then a crisis forces Olaf to take a stand and eventually the community unites around the young couple.
