A Notice From Youth Librarian Stephanie…

Hello tweens and teens! I hope you have been having a wonderful summer. It sure has been a hot one! Due to the low attendance for our programs, I am cancelling the Nerf Challenge on July 19th and the Painting on Big Paper on July 25th. The Lunch Bunch Book Club will continue to meet on July 15th, 22nd, and 29th from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. If you are participating in the Reading Challenge (and it’s not too late to start), don’t forget about our celebrations schedule on July 31st at 10:30am and at 6:30pm. At these times you will get to pick out your new books for participating and have one last chance to enter the grand prize. Thanks for singing up. I’m sorry things didn’t work out. I hope to see you soon at the library and again at school in the fall for book clubs.

Reading can be one of the many fun activities children chose to fill their summer time. Research has shown it is also much more! Tweens and teens who participate in public library summer reading programs make achievement leaps during the summer and score higher on fall reading achievement tests. In the YA area we have a great selection of books to read this summer. Come see what the fun is all about!
