Week 37: Kid Programs Start Up and the Website is Rocking

On this cool Monday morning, it is quite apparent that autumn is in the air in Vicksburg. The breeze is cool and crisp, the leaves a just starting to change color, and the kids are all back in school. We have been pretty busy here at the library as well.

We all enjoyed seeing you on August 28 at the VHS Tailgate! We had a great time meeting future patrons and loyal friends as we passed out candy, stickers, bags, and program information to everyone. We were all beat after a fun (but warm) two hours. Phew! To those who confessed to us that they didn’t have a library card (whether with us or with another library), have no fear. You can come in anytime during library hours and sign up for your VDL card. If you are signing up for a reciprocal card, please note you must have a library card from your home library before you can come register for your Vicksburg card. Please call us if you have any questions.

This morning, after a short hiatus, our kid programs have started up once again. Story Time is currently in progress. This program occurs weekly on Mondays from 10:30am to 11:15am. On Tuesday the 11th this week, we will also have our kickoff for Homeschool Book Club 12:30pm to 1:30pm. Open to grades 3 to 8, bring a bagged lunch with you and be ready to talk about what you are reading right now!

Adrianne is still hard at work with adding information to the library website. Soon she will be adding to the Collections page with hot new items from each genre. We will also soon be asking for submissions from patrons for reviews of items in the library. We will be featuring these items on our Social Media website tab, so if you would like to help out and be featured, let us know!

We will be adding a weekly blog post every Monday letting you know what is coming up at the library, recapping events from the week before, and all other matters of news. So be sure to check back here weekly to stay in the know with the Vicksburg District Library!
