Week 51: The Finish Line is in Sight!

How is your holiday rush going? Is your Christmas shopping done? Is it even started? The Christmas season always proves to be one of the busiest times of the year. It’s no different here at the library as we prepare for some well deserved time off with our family and friends. We hope you are getting some rest as well!

Last 2 Weeks

If you are wondering why we didn’t have a post last week, it was due to website technical difficulties. This involved a reformatting of the website, which Adrianne then used to take care of a couple minor listing issues. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but hopefully the flow of the website for the library will work just as well for everyone, if not better!

Did you happen to see us during Christmas in the Village? During the parade, the Vicksburg District Library had an F150 decorated! We had a lot of fun waving and singing along to some of our favorite holiday tunes. That being said, after seeing all the crazy displays other places came up with for their floats, we are ready to bring our A game for 2019. So watch out!

Next Few Weeks

With the pending holidays, we are going to squeeze our last few upcoming events into one update.

First for our parents. Story Time and Mugs & Hugs is finished for 2018. Stephanie will return for toddler fun in 2019 starting on the week of January 7th. But that being said, all adult programs will go on as scheduled through the new year, so be sure to join us for Bridge Club and Brown Bag Lunch on the 18th and Writer’s Roundtable on the 26th.

Secondly, Librarians need holiday breaks too. While we have been saying it for the last month, just one more reminder that the Vicksburg District Library will be closed on the 24th and 25th in observance of Christmas and on the 31st and 1st in observance of New Years. Please make sure you have any items on hold picked up before these dates so you have your reading supplies for the holidays.

Check It Out!

Feeling in the holiday mood? We have a selection of Christmas novels ready for your browsing! On top of the display case when you first walk in, all novels have to do with the Holiday of Christmas.
