Happy May!

Happy May to everyone in the Vicksburg community! We have a few updates for you this morning about things that are currently happening at the library, so be sure to look this over and let us know if you have any questions!

STILL OPEN

The Vicksburg District Library is still open to the public! Keep in mind that we are strictly adhering to all mask mandates and there is no seating available unless you are using a public computer. For further details on what we do and do not have available, please see our page Currently at the Library.

NEW PRIVACY PROCEDURES

The Michigan Senate recently passed Bill No. 611, which addresses the privacy of patron information in Michigan libraries. This bill went into effect on March 29, 2021. As a result, the Vicksburg District Library has had to change some of its practices when it comes to verifying information over the phone and checking out items to people who are picking up for our patrons. Please visit our page Patron Privacy for further information.

If you have any questions about Bill No. 611 or would like access to a copy, please contact Library Director, Eric Hansen. We are striving to make sure your information is safe and making sure you are not caught off guard the next time you visit us at the library!

SUMMER READING PROGRAM

Summer Reading Program is coming for all ages! That’s right, adults too! Mrs. W, our Youth Services Librarian, is gearing up for a fun month of reading activities for home with this year’s theme of Tails & Tales. Be sure to watch our webpage and social media at the beginning of June for registration. The Summer Reading Program will run from June 21st through July 31st. We hope you’ll participate in the fun with us!

COVID VACCINE SITES

Looking to grab a COVID vaccine, but not sure where to go? Check out our page Vaccination Sites to see a list of possible places where you can call and get information so you can get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Please keep in mind that you must contact the locations to discuss the availability of a vaccine, the vaccine types available, and other limitations. The Vicksburg District Library is not affiliated with any of the listed institutions in any way and the list is only to be used as a resource.

Wishing you all the best as we zoom towards summer!
