Open the Windows and Breathe the Fresh Air!

Happy summer vacation! It was pretty hot for a few days there, but Kalamazoo summer has settled in all around us. As we prepare for the Independence Day holiday (yes, it’s only a few weeks away), here are some updates from the Vicksburg District Library.

SUMMER READING PROGRAM

The 2021 Summer Reading Program is getting ready to kick off on June 21st! There is no need to register for the program itself. But if you are looking to participate in some of the events Mrs. W has planned, we recommend that you head over to your assigned age group page on the Summer Reading Program webpage and register as soon as possible. Many programs are on a first-come, first served basis. Bags and supplies for participants can be picked up on Monday the 21st, so we are looking forward to seeing you all!

MAGAZINE AND NEWSPAPER SURVEY

We are hoping to begin the circulation of periodicals once more. However, we want to know what YOU want to read! Is there a magazine you just can’t live without? Is there a newspaper that you begin each day by giving it a look-through? Let us know! Fill out our Magazine and Newspaper Survey. You can access the online version here, or you can fill out the paper version the next time you stop in at the Circulation Desk. We will use your answers to help build our periodical collection!

BOOK SALE UPDATE

Many patrons have been asking if there are plans for our big Book Sale in the future. The short answer is we have no plans at this time. The long answer is while we are once again taking item donations (please see our Item Donation Guidelines page for details), we are still working to plan when and how to put together our next big Book Sale. There is no timeframe at the moment. In the meantime, we do have a full shelf of items for sale when you come visit the Library across from the Circulation Desk. If you have any questions in regards to this, please feel free to give us a call. We are happy to help!
