Every ninety years, twelve gods are reborn as teenage popstars, and within two years they’ll be dead. Written by the amazing comic talent Kieron Gillen, and spectacularly drawn by Jamie McKelvie, this comic is beautiful and surprisingly powerful. The premise doesn’t lead you to expect what the writer and artist turn out, which is the start of a powerful story about found family, love, life, humanity, pain, and death. Follow the main character, Laura Wilson through this fantastical London’s music scene (very much an homage to the music scene in 1980’s London) as the author drags the main character through the greater story. Nothing though is as it seems. Fantastic from start to finish, the series ends with volume 8, releasing March 2019, and I can’t wait.
